Save Your Aquarium

Save Your Aquarium

Our program is designed to educate high school students in marine science through hands-on opportunities. The students are responsible for maintaining their aquariums, checking the water quality, and feeding. Your support offers an opportunity to provide nutritious food while helping offset the costs to feed our classroom.

Your generosity will help to offset the cost of the exceptional support and care for these animals during this difficult time.

There are 3 ways you can help to support your favorite institution:

Keep a bucket for yourself and give the other to the institution.

Give both buckets to the institution of your choice.

Piscine Energetics History

  • In the late 1960’s Mysis shrimp (a small zooplankton) was introduced by government authorities to Freshwater lakes in British Columbia to provide nutritious forage for native fish stocks.
  • The introduction of Mysis shrimp disrupted the natural food chain as these invasive shrimp outcompeted and starved juvenile fish of natural food sources.
  • In the late 1990’s Piscine Energetics pioneered a sustainable fishery for these invasive shrimp and developed harvesting methodology under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment of British Columbia, Canada.
  • Piscine Energetics® transforms invasive Mysis shrimp into sustainable fish food; thereby simultaneously rehabilitating the native fish stocks in Lake Okanagan.
  • PE Mysis is used by home aquarium hobbyist, aquaculture, zoological institutions & public aquaria worldwide.

By Using Piscine Energetics, you are aiding in the restoration of British Columbia’s landlocked Kokanee Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) Populations!
